Six year old case settles months after Wenholz | Dow hired
Wenholz | Dow was asked by a local firm to try a personal injury case involving low property damage with serious life changing injuries. The case had been on file in Williamson County, Texas since October 2014. Wenholz | Dow secured a substantial settlement for the client in less than eight months. The terms to remain confidential.
The genesis of the case was a two-car motor vehicle accident in which our client suffered disc herniations at L5-S1 and C3-C4, and well as disc bulges and a torn labrum. The client underwent an Anterior Cervical Discectomy & Fusion involving permanent placement of hardware. The torn labrum was also surgically repaired and the third surgery was an L5-S1 laminotomy and discectomy. A Life Care Plan was procured and the case settled for a confidential amount shortly before trial.
Plaintiffs experts included Dr. Robert Josey and Dr. Edward Seade of Austin the client’s surgeons; Dr. Hector Miranda-Grajales – Life Care Planner; Gerald Casenave, Ph.D. – economist; John J. Smith, P.E. – Biomechanical expert; Simon Forster, D.C. – certified impairment examiner. The defense hired Dr. Nicholas Tsourmas, M.D. to opine there was no causal connection between the injuries and the collision; Rawson L. Wood, MD – biomechanics; David Goldblatt, M.D. - causation. Following the deposition of biomechanical expert John Smith from Raymond P. Smith Associates in Parker, Colorado the case settled.
