David C. Wenholz

I'm David Wenholz. I'm a partner at Wenholz | Dow. I've been practicing law since 1990, which is hard to believe at times it's been 30 years, but I've also been married 34 years to my lovely wife, Andrea, and have two beautiful daughters. I have a unique practice. I handle cases everything from product-defect cases to natural disasters. Fighting for the underdog is important to me because I'm a first-generation lawyer. No one in my family had ever been a lawyer, so I came to this profession with kind of a unique perspective. I enjoy trying cases for a variety of reasons. You've got to like the ability to make yourself vulnerable, to the jury, to the judge, and your client. I like being the champion for what I believe is the right side of the dispute especially for someone that doesn't have the same access to the economic advantage that a large corporation does. And I think I'm good at it. And I've enjoyed it. There is a tremendous sense of satisfaction when, at the end of the case, your client reaches over before the verdict is read and says, "You did a fantastic job. Thank you very much for all you've done. No matter what happens, I'm happy that you're my lawyer." That is what motivates me and that's what motivates quite frankly all the lawyers in our firm.
